Product Overview
Our Stratus 72, originally known as the Giant Hat Tipi, was the pioneer of the Nordic Tipi industry when it was introduced over 35 years ago. Whilst it has evolved greatly over the years, its essence remains and its Scandinavian heritage is celebrated and appreciated across the world.
It is the largest tent in our range and the most versatile. It can be built with all the sides up, all the sides down or a combination of both. By raising the sides and using our Linkflex system, multiple Stratus can be linked together in countless ways to create a perfect event space with almost infinite possibilities. It can also be linked to our Cirrus 40 and Stratus 40 tents.
These giant event tents are fully customisable and can be supplied with our Wallflex system of canvas or PVC walls and bespoke wooden doors, providing ultimate flexibility.

When pitched with sides down, the Stratus 72 has a diameter of 10.3 meters (33’10”) and a covered area of 83 m² (893 sqft). With sides up, it expands to a diameter of 13 meters (42’8”) and a covered area of 132 m² (1421 sqft).
How many people can the Stratus 72 accommodate?
The Stratus 72 can seat up to 72 people at 8 per table with sides down, and up to 128 people with sides up. For 6 per table, it accommodates 54 people with sides down and 96 with sides up. The standing room capacity with the sides down is 80 people, or 140 with the sides raised.
Can multiple Stratus 72 tents be linked together?
Yes, the Stratus 72’s design allows for multiple tents to be linked in limitless configurations, creating larger spaces for bigger events.
What is included with the Stratus 72?
Each Stratus 72 package includes a pole set, hardware, stakes, straps, canvas, an In-Tent Vent system, and a packing bag. We offer additional accessories to enhance your tipi.
How long does it take to set up the Stratus 72?
A team of three people can set up the Stratus 72 in approximately two hours.
Is the Stratus 72 suitable for all weather conditions?
Yes, the Stratus 72 is designed to withstand various weather conditions, providing shelter and comfort for your event regardless of the season. Our canvas is fully waterproof and the poles are made from extremely slow grown spruce for the far North of Scandinavia, making them extraordinarily strong. We also offer enhancements such as the Tipistar, walls, wooden doors and fireplaces.
What support is available for Stratus 72 owners?
Our team offers initial consultation to get a better understanding of your requirements, plus site visits, installation, face-to-face training and ongoing telephone support. We also offer a comprehensive support package, including investment planning, a Field Ready Training Programme (FRTP), guidance notes, health & safety packs, photo packs, floor planning tools, and access to an international network of users.

Yes, the Stratus 72 can be customized with additional features such as WallFlex which provides extra space, weather protection and natural light (PVC or canvas), and wooden doors for aesthetic appeal. The Stratus 72 can also be linked to other Stratus 72, Stratus 40 and Cirrus 40 to provide additional space.
Can a fireplace be used inside a Stratus 72?
Yes, our specially designed Bamse fireplace can be installed in the Stratus 72.
